In extremely short words: We had another great GTG. 238 people gathered in Copenhagen, enjoying almost always sunnny weather (while both before and after the GTG, it rained constantly...), and another great agenda.
Party all night, then be woken up to the sound of a soldier blowing the bugle horn or a Scot in full gear marching his bagpipe, then swarm all over the city in Santa’s hats (to the theme, Christmas in August...), engage in a canal cruise, or a city rallye of weird games, have a great official dinner, and go full circle back to partying all night again - that’s the way (“a-ha-a-ha...”) we like it.
Before we come to the rest, please have a look at the Call for Papers below!
This is a Choice of the Official Pix, there’s more at the official site, but uncommented as always. They also have some very small videos, just clips that were made with a digital still camera. Some are quite funny, though. Like these three (1, 2, 3) of me and Barbara doing the waltz. (You’ll have to understand that I am quite excited about this little procedure we had at the official dinner - six years after having met Barbara in Copenhagen, and only a couple of weeks before getting married to her, it was great to receive the good wishes of some 300 people!)
For the first time this year I notice how extremely many people had digital cameras with them. Cool! Well, perhaps you are looking for a way of sharing those photos with the people you met on the GTG? OK, forget about that list of e.Mail addresses you compiled on a scratchy piece of notepaper which you couldn’t read even before it got into the washing together with your jeans - contribute your stuff to the Unofficial GTG page!
I’ll collect the stuff you e.Mail me, and put it up on this page. And you’ll be credited for it, of course... (Please indicate if you agree to share your e.Mail address and full name; when I’m not sure I will protect your privacy and only publish first names.)
Your stuff could be anything: Digital photos, scanned analog photos (hard work, I know), love-letters, stories, whatever. For notices and comments on the GTG or the website, I recommend the forum, or the guestbook.
Let's share and make this page a great one! So everybody who haven’t been there will be envious... :-)
In one of the pictures I noticed this guy taking pictures with what appears to be a Minolta Hi-Matic 7SII or a very similar model. That was the first camera I had! And I, too, still have it! I rarely use it, though. So, if you’re the guy in this picture, satisfy my curiosity and e.Mail me. Thanks!
And another: The OC are looking for someone who swapped his jacket during the official dinner, most probably unintentionally. They have this one, and are looking for its twin. Since a suit out there must be incomplete, please all look into your wardrobes, and eventually e.Mail the OC. Thanks again.
Great fun, back up to the rest...
